Dayne Lopez found his love for glassblowing in 1992 while working for the Glass Eye Studio in Seattle, Washington. Dayne has since studied under many of the best and talented glass artists in the Seattle area. His interest in the medium grew quickly and he started his own business, Dayne Studios, which later became Calcifer Glass. After operating in Renton, WA for two years, Dayne moved his studio to Oak Harbor, WA. The studio is located on Pioneer Way, between the historic Smith Park and the waterfront.

Dayne's daughter, Jaya, grew up in the studio helping blow glass, as well as sell it at events and markets. Though she works full-time as the Digital Editor of a newspaper, she continues blowing glass and managing the business's daily operations.
